This car is 9 years old, with an average annual mileage of 13,200 kilometers, typical of normal family daily use. It has never been transferred to another owner, making it a good first-hand car. The exterior may have some obvious signs of wear and tear. The interior shows obvious signs of use or dirt. The overall body frame is intact, but there are a few abnormal issues. The powertrain is functioning normally.
The technician will put the vehicle in neutral on the lift, rotate the wheels, and listen for any abnormal metal gear whine from inside the motor reducer, and check for gear oil leaks at the joints of the reducer housing.
The technician will start the vehicle and turn on the air conditioning system, measuring the actual temperature at the vents at the lowest and highest settings with a thermometer; at the same time, they will connect a manifold pressure gauge to check if the refrigerant pressure in the high and low pressure lines is within the normal range, determining if there is a chronic refrigerant leak.
During the stationary steering test, the technician will check the smoothness of the steering wheel from full left to full right, looking for any unusual noises from the steering gear; they will also inspect the hydraulic power steering pump (if present) and the seals of the steering column for any hydraulic fluid leakage.
